Since 2015, Africa has witnessed a lot of protests, many of which have gotten the attention of the world. Over the past six years, civil unrest and protests on the continent have been centred around corruption, cost of living, coup d’état, environment, ethnic tensions, foreign affairs, gender-based violence, health care, human rights, insecurity, land grabbing, police brutality, politics, reforms, sectarian tensions, slavery and xenophobia. In all, we recorded 239 protests across the continent.
